Le Quang Liem is a Vietnamese grandmaster and the no. 1 ranked player from Vietnam. His biggest achievements include winning the 2005 U-14 World Youth Championship, the 2013 World Blitz Championship, and the 2019 Asian Chess Championship. Liem was also the winner of the 2010 Aeroflot Open, 2015 and 2017 HD Bank Cup, as well as the 2022 and 2023 Biel Chess Classic. With a peak FIDE rating of 2740, Liem has represented Vietnam in numerous international team events, his best performance being 8/10 on board one in the 2012 Chess Olympiad, leading Vietnam to their best ever 7th place finish.
