Ivan Saric is a two-time Croatian Champion and former European Individual Champion. In 2008 won the U18 World Youth Championship, as well as the U18 European Youth Championship. He also won the Challengers section of the 2014 Tata Steel Tournament, qualifying for the Masters section the following year. Saric is the current Croatian No. 1 and leader of the national team. His most notable victory is his win over Magnus Carlsen in the 2014 Chess Olympiad
